On October 20, 2008, Allied World Assurance Company announced the closing of its acquisition of Darwin. The acquisition accelerates Allied World’s expansion of its U.S. specialty insurance operations.
Darwin, now a member company of Allied World U.S., will continue to build on its reputation for both product and technology innovation. We at Darwin are very excited about the opportunities this merger has presented to our company. Darwin will continue to offer industry-leading Health Care, Errors and Omissions and Risk Management Services as part of the Allied World U.S. Operation.
Chief Operating Officer Jack Sennott said the Darwin team is very proud of the franchise we have built over the last five-and-a-half years and is excited about our future as a key component of Allied World.
