Coverage for Members of the American Medical Billing
Association
Allied World has partnered with the American Medical Billing Association
(AMBA) to offer its members professional liability coverage designed
specifically for the needs of medical billers and coders.
Overview
Health care consultants professional liability coverage is provided for
professionals who are engaged in consulting assignments with health care
facilities. Specifically, these assignments would be organizationally and
operationally focused, where there is limited or no direct patient contact
and/or diagnostic responsibilities.
Allied World's health care consultants coverage is geared towards independent consultants and small groups. Coverage is written on a surplus lines basis and is available in all states except Rhode Island.
With the underwriting expertise and appetite for underwriting niche-oriented professional risks, Allied World is emerging as the clear market leader for specialty insurance coverage. Whatever market classification may exist, Allied World looks beyond the label to understand and underwrite an account on its own merits.

Capacity
Allied World can provide limits up to $5 million for health care consultant risks.
- Named perils policy (covered services specified on declarations)
- Claims made, duty to defend policy
- Broad definition of Claims
- Contingent bodily injury coverage
- Prior Acts coverage available
- Provides $25,000 punitive damages sublimit (within policy limit, where applicable by law)
- Extended reporting period available for a one-year term at 100% of premium
Submission
Requirements
Allied World can quote from most competitors' applications. However, for primary
coverage a completed, signed Allied World application is required prior to issuing a
policy.
