Overview
Allied World is committed to offering exceptional coverage and value-added services to law firms that don't fit the box of standard, admitted markets. We have the expertise to understand and underwrite an account on its own merits.
Eligible Risks
We are able to entertain firms with:
- 1 - 25 attorneys
- all levels of experience (including start-up firms)
- annual revenues of $50,000 or above
- all areas of practice (except patent prosecution) including hard to place,
distressed business. Particular emphasis is placed on the following areas of
practice:
- Entertainment
- Environmental/Natural Resources/Oil & Gas
- Plaintiffs - Class Action/Mass Tort (above $3M limit)
- Plaintiffs - Medical Malpractice (above $3M limit)
- Securities - Bonds, Federal, State
- Tax Opinions
- Greater latitude for prior claims (severity and/or frequency): we will
consider firms with multiple or severe claims. Five year loss runs and claim
supplements required.
Limits
Up to $10 million, excess coverage available
Features & Highlights
- Minimum retention of $5,000
- Broad definition of Legal Services includes title agent, notary public, escrow
agent, and member of accreditation/ethics, peer review and/or licensing boards
- Coverage for violations of various privacy laws, including up to $25,000
notice and credit monitoring costs for no additional premium
- Coverage for Predecessor Firms, Independent Contractors and Of Counsel
- Optional Outside Directors Liability coverage available by endorsement
- Innocent Insured coverage
- Extended reporting period (ERP) options available, including disability,
death, and cessation of practice
- No pollution, mold or asbestos exclusions
- Worldwide claims coverage
